The founders of Modulbank filed a lawsuit against the organization over non-compliance with the agreements

The founders of Modulbank, Andrey Petov, Yakov Novikov, as well as Oleg Laguta, filed lawsuits in the courts of Moscow with accusations of the bank in non-compliance with labor agreements, writes Forbes. According to the Moscow courts, the statements and related documentation were taken under advisement in March this year.
The founders previously worked at Sberbank, and in 2014 they launched an online bank for small businesses. Initially, the service worked as one of the areas of the “Regional Credit”, which belongs to Artem Avetisyan, but then it turned to Modulbank only in 2016. The founders owned 7.5% of the bank each, and in December last year they left it. They gave the shares to Avetisyan, whose package was 90.8%.
The founders of the bank didn’t receive funds for the transfer of their shares under the terms of the purchase in 2016, since they didn’t buy them initially.
The agreements with the founders of the company were terminated by mutual agreement, on the basis of which Modulbank had to pay 15 million rubles to the creators by December 25, and later to accrue monthly compensation for the termination of cooperation, the volume of which meant to be set by the success of the bank.
The bank made the first payment, but later the creators got neither any reports for the month nor payments. According to Petrov, the proposed commission was supposed to reach 18.1 million. This is the amount the creators indicated in their appeal to the court.
The total amount of payments should be about 435 million rubles. Petrov also claims that this amount was confirmed by the chairman of the bank’s board Alexander Cherstvov during a telephone conversation. The bank’s representatives confirmed receipt of the claims, but the bank didn’t give consent to the payments.
In addition, Cherstvov, in a conversation with Vedomosti, stressed out that the bank will fulfill its own obligations if there are appropriate conditions. He also stated that there are flaws in the work of Novikov, Petrov and Laguta, the seriousness of which will be discussed separately after the audit.
