Rosstat announced an increase in the income of Russians in 2019

According to a Rosstat study, real incomes of Russian citizens grew by 0.8% in 2019, according to Forbes. The agency notes that for the first quarter, revenues decreased by 1.8%, in the second one they surged by 1%, in the third – by 3.1%, and in the fourth – by 1.1%.

The nominal wages of citizens for the period from January to November last year increased by 7.2% and amounted to 46,131 rubles. Actual earnings of Russians boosted by 2.5%. The agency didn’t reveal information on this indicator for the whole year. Rosstat provided GDP results for the period from January to September 2019, the indicator grew by 1%. Last year inflation was 3%.

The real wages of Russians were decreasing from 2014 to 2017. In 2014, it fell by 0.7%, in 2015 – by 3.2%, in 2016 – by 5.8%, in 2017 – by 1.2%. Rosstat recorded negative indicators in 2018, the decline was 0.2%. After recounting the data according to the new methodology, the agency said for the results of 2018, the real incomes of Russians gained 0.1%. With the transition to a new methodology, Rosstat also changed the date of publication of studies. Instead of monthly reports, the department now provides documentation once a quarter.

A 0.8% increase in real income exceeded forecasts of the Ministry of Economic Development. Representatives of the ministry expected a growth of 0.1%. In 2020, revenue increase is planned at 1.5%, taking into account economic growth and investment activity, said Maxim Oreshkin.

The same forecasts were announced by Anton Siluanov, Minister of Finance. He said that incomes began to get bigger due to low inflation and enhanced social benefits and salaries.
