Maxim Oreshkin heads Russian delegation in Davos

For the second year in a row, the Russian delegation at Davos Economic Conference will be headed by Maxim Oreshkin, Acting Minister of Economic Development, Forbes reports. The forum will be held from January 21 to January 24.
Earlier, RIA Novosti, Vedomosti and Interfax agencies said that in 2020 the delegation will be headed by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak.
One of the Forbes publication sources said that Oreshkin was originally supposed to lead the mission, but later the organizers decided to increase the status of the delegation. Then they chose Dmitry Kozak. But after the resignation of the government, he refused to participate. Another Forbes correspondent said that Kozak had not yet made a decision. At the moment, it is known for certain that he is not registered in the lists of conference participants. Dmitry Kozak assistant Ilya Dzhus denied the information about the trip of the head, saying that Dmitry had not originally planned it.
Maxim Oreshkin is announced to participate in three sessions of the conference: on topics of social mobility in the era of robotization, on economic forecasts for Russia and on Russian-European cooperation. Earlier, Oreshkin announced that he plans to meet new European Commissioner for Trade Phil Hogan, ministers of economics from France, Switzerland, Turkey and foreign investors at the conference.
In addition, the conference will be attended by the Chief Officer of the Russian Direct Investment Fund Kirill Dmitriev, Chairman of the Board of SIBUR Holding Dmitry Konov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Severstal Alexey Mordashov and Chief Officer of Severstal Alexander Shevelev as part of delegation.
It is planned to discuss issues such as asset tokenization, risk and crisis management, countering inequality and investing on the platform of the Russian delegation “Russian House”. Also within the framework of the conference, a meeting of participants of the Advisory Council on Foreign Deposits in the Russian Federation is organized.
