Sberbank has tightened supervision over employees

After the scandalous leak of confidential data from the client base of Sberbank, the management tightened control over employees. Stanislav Kuznetsov, Deputy Chairman of the Board, spoke about the new rules for the staff.
He confirmed the mistake of Sberbank. Within the negotiations at a conference in Davos, he said that the company was defending itself against external threats, forgetting about internal ones.
To resolve the issue, Sberbank has created a program, according to which the company and its employees will work in the near future. He clarified that it will include several systems that will automatically track the activities of subordinates in order to avoid uncontrolled disclosure of official information.
The company also continues to improve its defense systems against external threats. Systems for countering cyber attacks will be created this year. At the end of 2019, cyber attacks cost the country’s economy 2.5 trillion rubles.
In October last year, the Kommersant published data, according to which information about 60 million of the bank’s customers appeared on the network. Later, representatives of Sberbank confirmed the theft of data of only 200 records. Some time later, it was possible to identify the fraudster, he was the head of one of the units who had access to the databases.
A couple of days later, the Kommersant published the news about another crime. This time the attacker turned out to be an employee of the “NSV” from Volgograd. After this incident, the bank announced its desire to terminate the cooperation agreement with the collection agency.
Afterward, in an interview with Forbes, the head of the bank, German Gref, said that the organization had reassessed its risks and made conclusions. According to him, there was only one leak in the history, they managed to intercept it. It was a shock to learn that the crime came from the inside.
