DIA launched a service which pays out compensations to depositors of bankrupt banks

The Deposit Insurance Agency has launched an application which helps depositors of bankrupt banks to apply for insurance payments and receive compensation without leaving their homes, Forbes reports, citing the agency. Customers of NVKbank, which lost the permission to conduct business on January 24, will be the first to try the application.
Agency representatives clarified that only those who are also a client of Sberbank will be able to use this service. You can fill out an application through the Sberbank Online app. The service is offered for implementation to other banks. In addition, after the adoption of amendments to the law “On insurance of deposits in banks of the Russian Federation”, depositors will be able to leave an application for insurance compensation on the state services portal or the agency’s website.
DIA General Director Yuriy Isaev calls the launch of the service a key step in improving the deposit security system. He clarified that the application will significantly save the time of clients of failed banks. He is confident that the number of partners of the agency will grow due to the innovation.
